JFWA Homecoming

Tonight, I had the great pleasure of attending the J. Frank White Academy’s homecoming basketball game.  Rather than beginning with the girls’ game as usual, the boys’ varisity were the first to tip off.

The game was, for the most part, an easy win.  Turnovers were kept to a minimum and the players did a stellar job shooting.  However, the opponent did consistently score, which made us a little nervous.  Nevertheless, the JFWA boys pulled a great victory on homecoming night.

During half time of the game, the homecoming ceremonies took place.  Heather HK, a senior, was voted homecoming queen.  To celebrate the alums, punch and cake was also provided.  I must say, I truly love Mrs. Leo’s punch.

The girls’ game started with a score by the opponent.  Throughout the game, they remaind either ahead or closely trailing.  The most exciting part of the game was the last quarter, when it was truly neck-and-neck.  The JFWA girls won the game by one point.

Congratuations to both teams.  It was a great night for the students, staff, parents, and alumni.
